Location: Philadelphia, PA 19104

Position Type:Contract

Pay Rate:Starting at $55/hr.

Shift:7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Terms:13 Weeks

Description:

Birch Agency is seeking an ICU Register Nurse to join our team.

The ICU Registered Nurse provides specialized, critical care nursing to patients with life-threatening conditions. The RN monitors patient status, administers medications and treatments, operates advanced medical equipment, and collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for critically ill patients.

• Monitor patients vital signs, neurological status, and hemodynamic stability.

• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other treatments as prescribed.

• Operate and monitor critical care equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and dialysis machines.

• Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and initiate emergency interventions when necessary.

• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and recovery processes.

• Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols.

• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to care planning.

• Support and mentor junior nursing staff when needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in nursing BSN).

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
