Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring 5 years of ED experience and a compact or NM RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital
  • 5-bed ER unit with 2 trauma bays and average daily census of 40-50 patients
  • Nurse to patient ratio of 1:3
  • Shifts are 12 hours, nights, with every other weekend required
  • No call or floating duties required
  • Community hospital currently working towards Level IV trauma designation
  • CPSI charting system is used
  • Cares for patients ranging from minor injuries to major traumas, including crush injuries, burns, and traumatic amputations
  • Must complete approximately 20 hours of required modules prior to starting on the unit
  • One to two days of unit-specific orientation with a preceptor is provided
  • Security is onsite 24/7, and the unit is supported by an ED physician at all times
  • Must wear navy blue scrubs; jackets allowed if they do not have a hood
  • Holiday rotation may be required
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

  • Active NM or compact state RN license required
  • Minimum of 5 years recent Emergency Department experience required
  • Certifications needed: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS
  • Must be able to mix and titrate critical drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Epinephrine, and Insulin
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry and EKG strips
  • Previous Level 1 or 2 trauma ED experience is accepted
