Quality Control Inspector - Medical Device Components (1st Shift, Full-Time)

A growing medical device component contract manufacturer located just north of the Twin Cities (near Hwy 35W in the Lino Lakes/Blaine area) is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our 1st shift team. We are expanding operations and will be moving to a new facility within the coming year. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to producing high-quality, precision machined components that exceed customer expectations.

Our manufacturing capabilities include high-volume production and rapid product development in Milling, Mill-Turning, Swiss, and EDM processes. The right candidate will play a key role in ensuring product quality through inspection and data analysis.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform 1st Article and Final Inspections (visual and dimensional) of medical device components.

  • Document inspection results accurately on reports and travelers.

  • Conduct in-process inspections as needed on the shop floor.

  • Identify and communicate quality issues to management.

  • Support Nonconforming Materials (NCR) processes and Return Material Authorizations (RMA).

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with ISO 13485 standards.

  • Collaborate with engineers during new product development.

  • Work with ERP systems such as JobBOSS and standard Microsoft Office tools.

  • Verify completeness and accuracy of device history records in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

  • Train manufacturing staff in quality inspection techniques as needed.

  • Provide suggestions for continuous improvement.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality inspection within the medical device industry, preferably in a regulated environment (GMP, ISO 13485).

  • Strong knowledge of quality control standards, AQL sampling plans, and 100% inspection protocols.

  • Familiarity with cGMP and GDP with the ability to coach others.

  • Proven integrity and accountability with a strong sense of urgency.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to recognize both visual and dimensional defects.

  • Proficient in English and metric systems, with intermediate math skills.

  • Skilled in using inspection tools such as microscopes, vision systems (Micro-Vu), toolmaker's scopes, pin/thread/drop gages, calipers, laser micrometers, and CMMs.

  • Solid understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC Swiss, Lathe, Mill, and EDM.

  • Experience with SolidWorks and CAD models is a plus.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
