Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 educational opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This contractual position, based in Windsor, Colorado, offers the chance to support and inspire learners across all grade levels within a dynamic school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans tailored to the needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Utilize diverse teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance student learning and communication.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, audiologists, and classroom educators, to support student progress.
- Monitor and document student development, adjusting instructional approaches as necessary.
- Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and self-advocacy.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure in teaching students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings focused on hearing impairments.
- Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication methods used by the Deaf community.
- Ability to assess and address individual learning needs effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with staff, students, and families.
