An opportunity is available for a registered nurse with expertise in step-down care, specializing in cardiac and medical-surgical telemetry patients. Responsibilities
- Providing comprehensive nursing care to cardiac step-down patients, including those with stroke overflow and medical-surgical telemetry cases
- Managing complex clinical interventions such as chest tubes, thoracentesis, tracheostomies, pacemakers, and cardiac catheterizations
- Administering advanced respiratory support including high-flow oxygen and BiPAP
- Utilizing telemetry monitoring and performing patient assessments in a 20-bed unit with a 5:1 patient ratio
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality care and positive patient outcomes
- Documenting patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse electronic health records
- Participating in bedside shift rounds and handoffs to enhance patient experience
Qualifications/Desired Experience
- Current RN licensure with proficiency in telemetry monitoring
- Advanced clinical skills including experience with cardiac management and critical care procedures (thoracentesis, PD, tracheostomy care, pacemaker management)
- Certifications required: ASLS, BLS
- Familiarity with hospital policies and professional dress code standards
- Ability to work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with every other weekend on schedule
