Job DescriptionPosition Summary
NCW is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to support a leading advanced manufacturing facility in Shelbyville, IN. This role is responsible for providing electrical, instrumentation, electronics, and general maintenance support to keep production equipment operating safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has strong industrial electrical troubleshooting experience, a solid understanding of PLCs and process controls, and a commitment to workplace safety and preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine, preventive, and emergency electrical maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), HMI systems, AC/DC drives, and industrial process controls.
- Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution systems, transformers, and electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, ladder logic, mechanical drawings, and operation sequences.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks, document repairs, and update work orders using maintenance management software while following all safety procedures and applicable electrical codes.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures including PPE requirements
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on industrial electrical maintenance experience or journeyman-level experience in industrial electricity and controls.
- Strong understanding of analog, digital, and logic circuits.
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing PLCs, VFDs, power distribution systems, and industrial controls.
- Ability to diagnose and repair process control equipment, instrumentation, HMI systems, data transmission devices, and AC/DC drives.
- Working knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Ability to work safely at heights and become certified to operate scissor lifts and forklifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance (PM) and computerized maintenance management/work order software.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC 70) and industrial safety practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
PPE Requirements
- Steel toe boot/shoes are required
- Safety eye wear, ear protection, gloves and bump cap provided
Employment Type & Compensation
- This is a Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire position
- Compensation: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour, based on experience | +$2.00/hr. shift differential once converted
- Application Period: This position will remain open until filled
Work Schedule
- 2nd Shift | Monday – Friday | 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM
- Occasional mandatory overtime Saturdays
