SUMMARY OF DUTIES
This position is focused on customer service and general office/clerical support. This is a support role capable of performing a variety of tasks, with problem-solving abilities, managing multiple responsibilities, and prioritizing to maintain a continuous flow of election office operations. This is a visible and crucial position requiring exceptional computer, customer service, and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for daily customer service: answers phone, email, and greets and serves in-person customers
- Processes daily mail, voter correspondence, and voter registration forms
- Handles all data entry tasks daily
- Generates standard and custom report orders for citizens, political parties, special districts, and candidates
- Adheres to state and federal election laws and rules
- Assists with the coordination of public election events
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, departments, agencies, and the public
- Attends training, conferences, workshops or online courses to obtain or maintain Certified Election Official status
- Assists with special projects as assigned
- Decisions are guided by governing statutes and rules, and department policies under the direction of the Elections Manager and County Clerk
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- Some election experience preferred
- One year of customer service, clerical, or administrative experience is preferred
- Ability to meet continuing education requirements set by the State, County, and Clerk & Recorder’s Office
- Produces written correspondence that is appropriate for the intended audience
- Maintains proficient skill levels in most current Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to work individually or in a team environment
- Lead and direct temporary election workers
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is generally performed in an office setting
- Travel to meetings, conferences, classes, and other activities may be required
- This position requires standing, stooping, sitting, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
WORK SCHEDULE
- Monday – Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Overtime is required during specific periods of an election cycle
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License and acceptable motor vehicle record
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
