Lāna'i Community Health Center (LCHC), located on the island of Lāna'i, is deeply rooted in a unique history of transitions and cultural diversity. This island has undergone economic and lifestyle shifts driven by changing ownership over the years. LCHC serves the entire population of Lāna'i, with a special emphasis on those living at or below 200% of the federal poverty level and the underinsured or uninsured. The center provides services in a culturally sensitive manner, offering translation services when needed, and ensures that no one is denied care due to an inability to pay.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center, LCHC accepts all insurances, helping patients navigate their coverage. Role Overview

As a Dental Hygienist at Lanai Community Health Center, Actively promotes dental health by completing dental prophylaxis; providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies; charting conditions of decay and disease; performing procedures in compliance with the
dental practice act, and applicable regulations within the State of Hawaii, of and for this position. This position also participates in outreach screening, prevention and education efforts. LCHC is a patient care, teaching and research organization and provides workshops, education sessions and outreach - all employees should expect to be involved with these activities to the extent to which will depend upon their position in the organization.

Qualifications

  • Be a graduate of a dental hygiene school accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation.
  • Valid and unencumbered licensure as Dental Hygienist in the State of Hawaii
  • Experience and knowledge of Dental Health Maintenance, Infection Control, Health Promotion and Maintenance, and the use of Dental Technology
  • Experience with medication administration within licensure/certification/law
  • Experience in community healthcare setting preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized dental workspace.
  • Willingness to participate in continuous learning and training opportunities.
  • Familiarity with dental office protocols, including appointment scheduling and client intake processes.
  • Capacity to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Salary

$42 to 47 per hour
