Position Description:
Seneca Resources is seeking an experienced Traveling TDR Electrician to support nationwide electrical troubleshooting, cable fault detection, and system repair projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on electrician who thrives in the field, enjoys travel, and has strong expertise in Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR), underground cable diagnostics, and commercial or industrial electrical systems.
You will play a critical role in identifying and resolving complex electrical issues across multiple job sites, helping ensure operational efficiency and system reliability for large-scale environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform cable fault location using TDR (Time Domain Reflectometer) and other diagnostic tools

Troubleshoot, test, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments

Analyze TDR data and translate findings into effective repair solutions

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduit, and equipment in compliance with NEC standards

Support underground cable testing, low voltage, and medium voltage systems

Travel extensively to project sites across the U.S. (75%–100% travel)

Collaborate with field teams, engineers, and project stakeholders to resolve issues quickly

Document service activities, test results, and repair actions accurately

Maintain strict adherence to OSHA safety standards and best practices

Serve as a technical resource and mentor for junior electricians when needed
Required Skills/Education:
-
3+ years of experience as a commercial or industrial electrician
-
Proven experience with TDR equipment and cable fault detection methods

Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical systems, wiring, and circuits

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
-
Working knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code)

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively

Ability to work independently in fast-paced field environments
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification

Experience with underground cable systems and low/medium voltage environments

Background in field service or traveling electrician roles

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Experience supporting large-scale commercial or industrial projects
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Ability to work in outdoor environments, confined spaces, and elevated areas

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
