The Financial Analyst will report to the CFO and will perform a wide range of duties involving the collection, review, and analysis of the company’s historical and current financial data to provide meaningful insights to management. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The Financial Analyst will utilize advanced analytical and technical skills to extract, structure, and interpret data to support accurate financial reporting, financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting. This individual is expected to take full ownership of their work product, ensure a high standard of accuracy, and proactively investigate and resolve complex financial questions with limited direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial results, including trends, performance metrics, and key business drivers, and provide clear, actionable insights to leadership
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and perform detailed variance analysis (actual vs. budget vs. forecast), with a strong understanding of underlying drivers
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models to support forecasting, scenario analysis, and strategic decision-making
- Participate in and support the budgeting and forecasting process, including refining assumptions and improving forecast accuracy over time
- Extract, organize, and analyze data from multiple systems to produce accurate, timely, and decision-useful reporting
- Create and maintain KPI dashboards and performance reporting tools that improve visibility into business performance
- Generate ad hoc analyses and reports in response to evolving business needs, often under tight timelines and with incomplete data
- Support the month-end close process, including preparation of moderately complex journal entries and coordination with accounting
- Respond to and provide support for external audit requests in a timely and organized manner
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve internal processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
•3 to 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A
•Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling, data manipulation, and analysis
•Experience building financial models and supporting forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
•Experience working with ERP systems or participating in system implementations strongly preferred (Sage 300 experience a plus)
•Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently work through complex or ambiguous data sets
•High level of accuracy and attention to detail; consistently produces reliable, high-quality work
•Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
•Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes
•Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across functions
•Proactive approach to identifying issues, asking questions, and driving solutions
•Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information and insights to management
•Demonstrated ability to build models and analyses from the ground up, not solely maintain existing templates
•Track record of improving processes, reporting quality, or forecast accuracy
•Comfort working with large, imperfect, or unstructured data sets to arrive at clear conclusions
•Consistent delivery of high-quality work under tight timelines
