Salary:$70-$80 per hour

Position Summary:


The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with physician orders and established departmental protocols. This role involves preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring patient safety while maintaining compliance with all state, federal, and institutional regulations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform a variety of nuclear medicine imaging procedures using SPECT and PET/CT systems.
  • Prepare, calculate, and administer appropriate doses of radiopharmaceuticals following established safety protocols.
  • Verify patient identity and procedure orders prior to imaging.
  • Position patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
  • Monitor patients during procedures, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
  • Process, analyze, and review images for quality assurance before submitting to radiologists.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in PACS and RIS systems.
  • Comply with all NRC, state, and institutional policies regarding radiation safety and radioactive materials.
  • Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment and radiation detection instruments.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the nuclear medicine work area.
  • Participate in continuing education and maintain professional certification requirements.


Qualifications:


  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Certification:
  • Current ARRT(N) and/or NMTCB certification required.
  • State of CA Nuclear Medicine Technologist License
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of recent hospital-based nuclear medicine experience preferred.
  • Experience with PET/CT and SPECT/CT imaging preferred.
