Become part of a transformative team - Our organization is on the lookout for a board-certified or board-eligible Obstetrics & Gynecology clinician-educator to join the expanding Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the lively city of Charleston, SC. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in training future physician leaders while improving access to specialized care for high-risk OB/GYN patients in Charleston and its neighboring areas.
With a dedicated team of over 50 physicians and researchers specializing in Women's Health, we take pride in our recognition by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 20 hospitals for Obstetrics & Gynecology in the nation.
In 2020, we inaugurated the Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women's Pavilion, a cutting-edge facility spanning 100,000 square feet with 250 beds, revolutionizing the care provided to women, children, and fetal patients in the region. This exceptional clinical environment is further supported by the Charles P. Darby Children's Research Institute, the largest pediatric research center in the Carolinas and one of only 15 of its kind nationwide.
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Completion of an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency/Fellowship
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- A strong commitment to education, excellent communication abilities, and a keen interest in academic pursuits.
About this opportunity:
- Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows, helping to shape the future of OB/GYN specialists.
- Join a collaborative and supportive department comprising over 50 physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and dedicated support personnel.
- Enjoy a flexible clinic schedule designed to meet your professional needs and preferences.
- Provide dedicated coverage one day per month in our Labor & Delivery unit.
- Approximately four weeks of inpatient coverage each year.
- Perform surgeries in the operating room twice a month for GYN cases, including robotic procedures for those credentialed in robotics, with support from subspecialists in GYN Oncology, Urogynecology, and REI.
- Engage in a flexible call system shared among department members, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
- No research obligations required.
- Utilize the EPIC medical record system.
