Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Day Shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Location: Pilot Mountain & Winston Salem Service Areas

At Mountain Valley, what we do is personal. Personal for those we serve and personal for us. Every day we stand shoulder to shoulder with individuals facing the most daunting challenge they will ever face – a serious, or even a terminal, illness. We help those with advanced illness cope with their day-to-day struggles, whether physical, emotional, social or spiritual. We also aspire to help our communities better understand end-of-life care. For those of us at Mountain Valley, there could never be a more important or rewarding job.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

Are you a compassionate RN with strong leadership skills and a heart for patient care? Join our team as the Assistant Director of Patient Services and help guide a dedicated clinical team, supporting high-quality care, and ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference—blending hands-on nursing with staff development and operational leadership to ensure patients and families receive the care and support they deserve.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support Clinical Teams: Partner with the Director of Patient Services to lead and support a dedicated group of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
  • Lead Daily Operations: Oversee day-to-day tasks like staffing schedules, timecard reviews, mileage approvals, call logs, missed visits, and medication coordination.
  • Mentor and Develop Staff: Provide 1:1 coaching, perform chart reviews, and offer clinical guidance to ensure high-quality, compliant care.
  • Ensure Seamless Care: Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver consistent, patient-centered care.
  • Step In When Needed: Provide direct nursing support when necessary to maintain continuity of care and support families during critical moments.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Proven experience in a clinical leadership role (home health or hospice a plus)
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compassion and focus
  • Commitment to high-quality, team-based patient care

If you're ready to take the next step in your nursing career and want to be part of a mission-driven team, apply today. We’re looking for someone who leads with integrity, cares deeply about patients and staff, and is ready to make a real difference.
