Job DescriptionJob Summary: The Facility Operations Specialist supports facility operations and sustainment activities, focusing on maintenance and repair (M&R) coordination, facility operations management, and supporting acquisition and funding tasks to ensure the operational readiness of facilities. This role collaborates with project managers, facility managers, and servicing agencies to monitor maintenance work, develop repair solutions, and maintain accurate data in designated systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing acquisition documentation for facility-related contracts, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
  • Support market research and cost estimation efforts for maintenance and repair projects.
  • Track and report project funding in financial and real property systems, ensuring monthly updates.
  • Assist in submitting purchase requisitions and coordinating with financial management teams on funding obligations.
  • Prepare monthly M&R coordination reports detailing project status, including cost, scope, modifications, percent complete, and logistics support.
  • Maintain data and contract information to support standard and ad-hoc reporting requirements.
  • Track and prepare documentation for task orders and funding using purchase cards.
  • Monitor maintenance work and track completion to ensure facility operational readiness.
  • Develop repair solutions for facilities in collaboration with the client.
  • Oversee environmental task completion and ensure permits, warranties, and equipment documentation are maintained in systems of record.
  • Interface with clients, executing agencies, facility managers, maintenance supervisors, and work leaders to support operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required (may be offset by additional experience with client approval).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in facility operations, maintenance, or construction support, preferably in government or federal projects.
  • OSHA 10-hour training preferred.
  • Knowledge of facility maintenance and repair processes.
  • Proficiency in data management and financial systems (e.g., real property, document, and financial platforms).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills for coordinating maintenance and repair activities.
  • Effective communication skills to interface with stakeholders and clients.
  • Must pass a background investigation to access client-furnished equipment (e.g., workstation, laptop).
  • Requires site visits, necessitating PPE per OSHA standards (provided by the contractor unless specialized PPE is supplied by the client).
  • Expertise in facility maintenance and operations.
  • Ability to manage and report on M&R activities with precision.
  • Collaborative approach to working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solving to ensure facility readiness.
