Description
American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist (X-Ray) with surgical experience and ARRT certification for an afternoon-shift position in a diagnostic radiology department.
Details
- Diagnostic radiology department in an acute care hospital setting
- Serves a broad patient population including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Will float to surgery and NICU as needed
- Preferred shift is 8 or 10 hours; 12-hour shifts may be considered for the right candidate
- Afternoon shifts: 12:30 PM–11:00 PM or 10:00 AM–8:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- One holiday shift may be required
- Minimal call before or after shift possible during high-volume periods or call-offs
- Uses GE imaging equipment
- Epic EHR and PACS experience preferred
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
Requirements
- ARRT certification and registration required
- BLS (AHA) required
- State license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of experience in radiation safety and patient care
- Surgical experience required with demonstrated proficiency in surgery settings
- Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited program preferred
- Experience with a Radiology Information System (RIS) preferred
- Proof of address required for consideration (e.g., driver's license, voter registration card, or federal tax return)
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
- Copy of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include obtaining patient history, positioning patients for imaging, performing radiographic procedures, applying radiation protection principles (ALARA), and evaluating image quality
- Assists licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures using aseptic surgical technique as needed
- Administers medications and contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner
- Pass/fail EKG test administered on the first day with two attempts allowed; study guides will be provided
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
