Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Tax Manager role located in the Bellingham, Washington. The Tax Manager will oversee and review individual and corporate tax returns, including federal, state, and local filings, to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely submission. Responsibilities include managing tax planning strategies for clients, interpreting tax law changes, and advising on implications for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations. The role involves supervising and mentoring junior staff, reviewing their work, and providing technical guidance on complex tax issues. The Tax Manager will also communicate directly with clients, respond to tax notices, liaise with tax authorities as needed, and support engagements involving corporate financials, audits, reviews, and compilations.


Qualifications

  • Strong tax preparation skills, including experience with individual and corporate returns (Tax Preparation, Tax).
  • Demonstrated expertise in tax compliance processes and regulatory requirements (Tax Compliance).
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing tax planning strategies for diverse client portfolios (Tax Planning).
  • Solid knowledge of federal, state, and local tax law, including entity-specific regulations (Tax Law).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Several years of progressive public accounting experience, including supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software, and strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
