Job Description

Purpose of the Job

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees the efficient operation of the warehouse, ensuring the proper care of the facility, equipment, and tools, while maintaining accurate inventory and coordinating logistics. This role is responsible for managing finished goods storage, documentation, crating processes, delivery scheduling, and staff training to support operational excellence.


Essential Job Responsibilities

  1. Facility Maintenance: Ensure the warehouse facility is maintained, clean, and safe, addressing any repairs or improvements needed to uphold operational standards.
  2. Equipment and Tool Management: Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and proper use of forklifts, equipment, and tools to ensure functionality and safety.
  3. Documentation: Manage and maintain accurate records, including inventory logs, shipping documents, and compliance records, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory and company standards.
  4. Finished Goods Storage: Organize and optimize storage of finished goods to maximize space efficiency, ensure accessibility, and protect product integrity.
  5. Inventory Accuracy: Conduct regular inventory checks, implement cycle counts, and maintain accurate inventory records to minimize discrepancies and ensure stock reliability.
  6. Scheduling Crating and Deliveries: Plan and coordinate crating schedules and delivery timelines to meet customer and business requirements, ensuring timely and accurate shipments.
  7. Crating Methods: Develop, implement, and refine crating processes to ensure safe and efficient packaging of goods for transport, adhering to quality and safety standards.
  8. Training: Train warehouse staff on operational procedures, safety protocols, equipment use, and crating techniques to maintain a skilled and efficient workforce.
  9. Logistics Management: Oversee logistics operations, including coordinating with carriers, optimizing shipping routes, and ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of goods.
  10. Perform other tasks as needed to support the company’s business objectives, such as participating in process improvement initiatives or assisting with special projects. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • 4+ years of proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, logistics, and warehousing best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills to manage teams and resources effectively.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management software (TMS) and ERP applications.
  • Ability to develop and implement efficient processes for crating and storage.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with staff, vendors, and logistics partners.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements in a warehouse environment.
  • Requires working in a warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures and physical activity such as lifting or moving items.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work to meet operational demands.
