Master Scheduler | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $74,000 - $108,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on demand forecasts and capacity.
  • Balance production capacity with customer demand and inventory targets to optimize resource utilization.
  • Monitor production progress, identify deviations, and adjust schedules to mitigate risks and maintain delivery commitments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, procurement, and logistics to ensure alignment and effective execution.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and production bottlenecks proactively.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to scheduling, inventory, and production efficiency, implementing continuous improvements.
  • Participate in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, providing critical scheduling insights and capacity constraints.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in master scheduling or production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) for planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, and problem-solving skills to optimize production schedules and mitigate risks.
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain principles, production processes, and inventory control methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Bonus Qualifications

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Experience with advanced planning and scheduling (APS) software beyond standard ERP functionality.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Direct experience participating in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
