The Gibson City Illinois Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Police Officer.
We are seeking professional, dependable, and community-minded individuals who are committed to providing quality law enforcement services to the citizens of Gibson City.
Position Responsibilities
* Patrolling the City of Gibson City
* Responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for service
* Conducting traffic enforcement
* Conducting preliminary criminal investigations
* Making lawful arrests when appropriate
* Preparing Reports
* Appearing in court when required
* Performing other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police
Minimum Qualifications
* Meet applicable Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board requirements.
* Must have an Illinois law-enforcement certification.
* Must be at least 21 years of age
* Valid drivers license
* Successfully complete a background investigation
Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and possibly holidays, as Department needs require. In the majority of circumstances part-time police officers will be working with a full-time police officer to provide back-up and additional man power as needed.
Starting Rate-$25.00 an hour (Negotiable depending on experience)
