The Evansville Regional Economic Partnership (E-REP) is seeking a Membership & Strategic Partnerships Manager to lead proactive new members sales, outreach, member engagement, and partnership development efforts across the Evansville region. This role is responsible for cultivating relationships with current and prospective members, identifying new partnership opportunities, increasing member retention and engagement, and advancing E-REP’s mission through strategic business development efforts. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly relational, organized, accountable, and comfortable representing E-REP throughout the community. This position requires a proactive and goal-oriented approach to business development, outreach, relationship cultivation, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate is comfortable initiating conversations, asking for commitments, and consistently maintaining prospect and member engagement activity.
Scope of Work
Business Development & Partnership Growth:
- Identify, develop, and pursue new membership and partnership opportunities.
- Engage prospective members clearly communicating E-REP’s value proposition.
- Conduct proactive outreach through networking, referrals, business visits, calls, meetings, and community engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with businesses, community leaders, investors, and strategic partners throughout the region.
- Clearly communicate E-REP’s mission, programs, initiatives, and member value proposition.
- Maintain an active pipeline of prospective members, sponsors, and strategic partners.
- Support achievement of annual membership growth, retention, sponsorship, and engagement goals.
- Collaborate with leadership and internal teams to identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and cross-department collaboration.
- Represent E-REP at community events, meetings, ribbon cuttings, networking events, and other public functions.
- Support onboarding and integration of new members to ensure a positive member experience.
- Identify opportunities to increase membership participation, engagement, and visibility within E-REP programs and events.
CRM & Reporting:
- Work collaboratively with E-REP departments to identify partnership opportunities and support organizational initiatives.
- Coordinate with marketing staff to support member communications, promotional opportunities, and engagement efforts.
- Provide support for select organizational events and initiatives as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications and Personal Attributes:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in business development, sales, membership engagement, account management, fundraising, or relationship management preferred.
- Experience working in chambers of commerce, economic development, nonprofit, business association, or community-focused organizations is a plus.
Experience and Skills:
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to confidently engage with business leaders, community stakeholders, and organizational partners.
- Self-starter with strong initiative and follow-through.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable with proactive outreach, networking, and business development activities.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/database systems.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
