Virtual School Psychologist Opportunities - Ohio

Job Title: Virtual School Psychologist (K12)
Location: Remote (Must be licensed in Ohio)

Position Overview

A progressive and student-focused Ohio school district is seeking a qualified and experienced Virtual School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services to K12 students across the district. This fully remote position requires proficiency in all areas of the school psychologist role, including assessments, IEP participation, consultation, counseling, and report writing.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, tech-savvy, and confident in delivering virtual psychological services while maintaining strong collaboration with onsite staff and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Psychoeducational Testing: Administer, score, and interpret a variety of standardized assessments virtually to evaluate cognitive, academic, emotional, behavioral, and social functioning.

  • IEP & Evaluation Team Meetings: Participate in special education eligibility and IEP meetings, presenting findings, making recommendations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Report Writing: Complete legally defensible, data-driven, and student-centered evaluation reports in a timely manner that meet all state and federal guidelines.

  • Consultation & Collaboration: Work closely with general and special education teachers, counselors, administrators, and families to develop and monitor appropriate interventions and supports.

  • Counseling Services: Provide short-term, solution-focused virtual counseling to students with IEPs or 504 Plans, as needed.

  • Crisis Response Support: Contribute to the district's virtual crisis response and risk assessment efforts when necessary.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all documentation, including consent forms, evaluation timelines, and service logs, are completed in accordance with Ohio Department of Education (ODE) requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology from a NASP-approved program

  • Current and valid Ohio Department of Education Pupil Services License for School Psychology

  • Proficiency with virtual assessment tools and platforms (e.g., Q-Global, Pearson Q-Interactive, etc.)

  • Experience working in a virtual environment and providing remote psychological services

  • Solid understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and Ohio special education policies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage a virtual caseload with professionalism and efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with a full K12 population across general and special education settings

  • Familiarity with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and positive behavior interventions (PBIS)

  • Previous experience using teletherapy platforms (e.g., Zoom, PresenceLearning, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Ohios ETR (Evaluation Team Report) and IEP processes
