A dynamic and busy specialty medical practice is seeking a full-time, team oriented licensed Psychologist who is professional, knowledgeable and motivated, to be an integral member of an interdisciplinary brain injury treatment program and pain management practice in the Sacramento area.

Ideally, a clinician in this position will be well-versed in evidence-based practices of individual and group therapy, in neuropsychological screening and assessment, DSM diagnosis, milieu and individual cognitive rehabilitation treatment, and brief intervention. Experience in an interdisciplinary behavioral health setting and with brain injury patients is a plus. The role requires flexibility and familiarity with principles of cognitive-behavioral strategies, group therapy and other evidence-based clinical approaches. Overall success in this position will require high level of organizational skills, and a high degree of interpersonal/cultural competence with both staff and patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Performing individual, group, and milieu cognitive rehabilitation therapy and psychoeducation in a brain injury treatment program
• Performing individual psychotherapy for chronic pain and trauma patients
• Conducting neuropsychological and psychological assessment for a Brain Injury Program and for outpatient psychology services
• Working with an inter-disciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, speech language pathologists, physical therapists, physicians, wellness instructors, nutritionists and patient care coordinators
• Providing behavioral interventions with patients
• Facilitating family meetings related to the Brain Injury Program
• Initiate and maintain a variety of progress notes, reports and other required documentation
• Administer, score and interpret a variety of psychological/neuropsychological tests
• Develop and provide in-service trainings to professional and support staff as needed
• Identify and evaluate normal and abnormal behavior tendencies and/or neurocognitive concerns and diagnose, classify and report an appropriate prognosis
• Prepare and implement an effective psychological and/or cognitive rehabilitation treatment plan

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with neuropsychological screenings and assessments
• Spanish speaking desirable but not required
• Possession of a valid Clinical Psychology license issued by the State of California
• Travel to the San Francisco East Bay area for initial training, and thereafter on a periodic basis.

• Serves as a key member of the primary care team
• Plan and implement appropriate and effective treatment methods
• Communicate effectively in both oral and written form
• Conduct effective and appropriate individual and group cognitive rehabilitation, psycho-education, and psychotherapy
• Train others at various levels of expertise in the concepts and theories of the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness and brain injury
• Prepare and present a variety of reports of both professional and administrative nature
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with the administrative staff and treatment team
