Job Description: The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operations of a multi-site warehouse and distribution network that supports housing maintenance activities. This role ensures the efficient procurement, receipt, storage, inventory control and distribution of maintenance materials to multiple locations – including a central warehouse and warehouses located on the U.S. Military installations. This position also oversees the company fleet program to ensure safe, complaint, and cost-effective transportation of materials to supported sites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Distribution Operations
- Strategically manage warehouse and distribution operations in alignment with company policies, operational goals, and customer support requirements for housing maintenance.
- Oversee receiving, storage, inventory management, picking, staging, delivery, and distribution of housing maintenance materials and supplies.
- Manage operations across multiple warehouse locations, including the main warehouse and satellite warehouses located on military installations.
- Develop warehouse layouts and storage strategies to optimize space utilization, material flow, and delivery efficiency.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and operational excellence across all warehouse sites.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable warehousing, inventory control, handling, transportation, and shipping regulations.
Inventory & Systems Management
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through effective stock control, cycle counts, and reconciliation with warehouse management systems.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all inventory issues and receipts in QuickBooks, with full alignment to physical inventory counts and controls.
- Monitor demand trends and coordinate with procurement and maintenance teams to ensure material availability and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
- Generate and analyze operational reports, including inventory status, order fulfillment metrics, dead stock reports, and delivery performance.
- Conduct annual physical inventory counts and perform thorough reconciliation to ensure system accuracy, identify discrepancies and maintain audit readiness.
Fleet & Transportation Management
- Oversee the company fleet program, including vehicles used for material delivery to housing sites and warehouse locations.
- Ensure fleet compliance with company policies, safety standards, preventive maintenance schedules, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate delivery routes and schedules to support timely and cost-effective distribution to multiple installations and maintenance sites.
- Oversee the maintenance and compliance aspects of maintaining fleet program
- Liaise with third-party transportation providers when required.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, security, and housekeeping across all warehouse and fleet operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements applicable to operations on U.S. military installations.
- Support audits, inspections, and reporting related to safety, security, and operational compliance.
Leadership & Administration
- Prepare and manage the annual warehouse and fleet operating budget.
- Plan work schedules, assign tasks, monitor performance, and conduct employee evaluations.
- Recruit, train, coach, and motivate warehouse and fleet personnel.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers, vendors, and installation representatives to ensure seamless support of housing maintenance operations.
- Receive feedback from customers and operations teams and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or Warehouse Operations Manager, preferably in multi-site or distribution environments
- Experience managing inventory and distribution of maintenance, construction, or facilities- related materials preferred
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and optimize operations
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems, inventory databases, and reporting tools.
- Experience overseeing or coordinating company fleet operations is strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field OR a minimum of 6 years of related warehouse, distribution, and logistics management experience in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS)
