Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night position requiring critical care and open-heart recovery experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Position is in a Cardiovascular ICU within a hospital setting
- 8-bed unit with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:3
- Patient population includes post-surgical management for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, thoracotomies, TAVRs, and post-complex PCI interventions
- Care for patients following open-heart and post-cardiac procedures, as well as surgical, central line, arterial line, and chest tube placements
- Utilizes Edwards and GE monitoring systems and SWAN Ganz catheters
- Night shift from 18:45 to 07:15
- 13-week contract assignment
- Responsibilities include post-operative care of cardiothoracic, vascular, and cardiac patients with advanced monitoring
- Must provide two professional references and a copy of a valid Driver’s License for consideration
- Unit uses advanced monitoring and equipment for post-surgical management
- All positions have a radius rule for local candidates, with reduced pay rate for those within the defined distance to the facility
- Covid vaccination is not currently required
- First time travelers may be considered
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required according to unit needs

- Active Indiana or Compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of critical care or cardiac critical care experience
- Open-heart and post-cardiac procedure recovery experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Nursys verification and current license verification within 30 days prior to start
- Must possess a valid US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
