Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This role is for a School-Based Special Education Teacher serving K-3 students in a K-12 school setting located in Cleveland, Ohio. The position offers a consistent contract schedule with 37.5 hours per week over 5 days, focused on providing specialized educational support to meet the diverse needs of young learners.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Ohio Special Education Teaching Certification required
- Experience working with K-3 age group in a special education environment
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and implementation strategies
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff and families
- Skilled in adapting curriculum and instructional approaches to support varied learning styles and abilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction based on individual student needs and educational goals
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Develop, implement, and maintain accurate documentation of IEPs
- Participate in team meetings and maintain open communication with parents and school personnel
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment conducive to student growth and success
