An opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide part-time support in a K-12 school setting located in Santa Clara, CA. This role involves working with students from Kindergarten through 8th grade, focusing on enhancing fine motor and sensory processing skills across one to two school sites.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
- Current California Occupational Therapy license
- Experience working in school settings, particularly with K-12 students
- Strong skills in assessing and developing IEPs
- Knowledge of assistive technology and its application in education
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Location:
- Santa Clara, CA (Onsite at school locations)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students fine motor, visual motor, and sensory processing skills
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Provide handwriting intervention and support as part of therapy services
- Apply sensory integration strategies and recommend environmental modifications
- Train students in self-care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support for students
