Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: New York, NY
Job Type: Contract (9 Weeks, with high possibility of extension)
Compensation:
- Weekly Pay: $2,600 – $3,300 (based on experience)
Schedule:
- Shift: Day Shift
- Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Schedule: 5x7.5-hour shifts
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures. The ideal candidate will utilize technical expertise to produce accurate diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to established protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Operate MRI equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures
- Position patients and coils appropriately to obtain optimal image quality
- Educate patients on procedures and ensure comfort throughout the exam
- Review and verify MRI safety questionnaires prior to scanning
- Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and ensure timely transmission to PACS
- Maintain accurate documentation within the Radiology Information System
- Ensure MRI suite cleanliness and proper equipment maintenance
- Follow strict MRI safety protocols to prevent hazards
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams as needed
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, MRI physics, and imaging techniques
- Excellent technical, analytical, and patient care skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Education:
- Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved Radiologic Technology program
Certifications & Licensure:
- New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
- ARRT (MRI) Certification required
- BLS (AHA) Certification required
- NYS DOH Radiography License required
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience preferred
