We are seeking a skilled Plastic Fabrication and Welding Specialist to join our team. This role involves welding complex plastic parts according to drawing specifications and collaborating with customers to aid in the manufacturing of prototype opportunities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership and initiative, assisting in the training of others and effectively communicating with both customers and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Weld complex plastic parts to drawing specifications.
  • Train and mentor other team members.
  • Collaborate with customers and assist in prototype manufacturing.
  • Engage in effective teamwork and communication within the organization.
  • Balance organizational needs with customer requirements.
  • Practice goal-oriented thinking in non-routine situations.
  • Continuously seek personal and professional development.
  • Adapt to changing work demands and unexpected circumstances.
  • Work independently and under pressure.
  • Utilize various tools and equipment for plastic fabrication and welding.
  • Read and interpret engineered drawings and bills of materials.
  • Visit customer sites to perform necessary fabrication and welding tasks.

Essential Skills

  • 6-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on fabrication.
  • Proficient in identifying and welding various plastics including WPP, NPP, PVC, FRPP, and more.
  • Skilled in using equipment for Pure bond, Socket fusion, and Butt weld.
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment for extended periods.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Experience with Manual Mill and Manual Lathe operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Driver's license.
  • Ability to identify and build using Inch and Metric dimensions.
  • Proficiency in using various hand and electric tools.
  • Experience with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Work Environment

The work environment is a plastic manufacturing setting with some noise and plastic chips present. Safety glasses and hearing protection are recommended in designated areas. The facility is ISO certified, and compliance with safety practices is mandatory. The role requires standing for the duration of the shift and the ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Employees are expected to present a professional image in accordance with company standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $36.00/hr.
