Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A travel opportunity is available for an Operating Room Technician specializing in Cardiovascular procedures, located in the scenic area of Humboldt, AZ. This role focuses on supporting complex cardiac surgeries in a busy surgical unit equipped with six OR suites, including one Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and a Hybrid room. The facility handles an average of 20-30 cases daily, including 1-2 cardiovascular surgeries and up to 4 Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements (TAVR).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist during open heart and cardiovascular surgeries, such as CABG, aortic valve, mitral valve procedures, and TAVR.
  • Scrub in and support the surgical team, maintaining sterile technique throughout procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.
  • Maintain readiness for on-call duties, responding within 30 minutes during on-call periods.
  • Utilize Cerner EMR system to document and track patient and surgical information accurately.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in open heart surgery or cardiovascular operating room settings.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred for registered nurses, though this role is for OR technicians.
  • Ability to scrub in during surgeries and maintain sterile field protocols.
  • Prior experience using Cerner or similar EMR systems is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work flexible schedules, including on-call availability up to 50% of shifts and weekends.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
  • On-call responsibility up to 50% of the time outside of scheduled hours.

The hospital provides scrubs and a supportive environment with charge nurses and specialty leads available, alongside a house supervisor during evening hours.
