Working closely with Sales, Operations, and Inventory teams, the Director of Procurement & Supply establishes purchasing processes that support product availability, customer service levels, and operational coordination across the organization. This role ensures procurement decisions align with seasonal supply cycles, product quality standards, and business demand while helping the company continue to strengthen and scale its procurement practices.
What You’ll Do

- Partner with executive leadership to align procurement strategy with company growth, seasonal supply planning, operational demand, and customer service levels.
- Develop systems that improve purchasing visibility, forecasting, and reporting
- Create and monitor procurement metrics and dashboards to track vendor performance and purchasing activity
- Manage procurement activities across a large supplier network of growers, nurseries, and perishable goods vendors
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with growers and suppliers while establishing procurement standards that support product quality and supply reliability
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements where appropriate
- Develop supplier performance standards and vendor scorecard processes
- Regular travel between company locations and supplier sites is required to support procurement coordination, vendor relationships, and cross-location operational alignment. Travel frequency will vary based on business needs.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Operations, and Inventory teams to ensure reliable product availability and smooth order fulfillment across locations
- Manage purchasing decisions in an environment influenced by seasonality, perishability, and product quality variability
- Improve purchasing coordination and forecasting across multiple nursery and distribution locations
- Provide leadership and direction to buyers and procurement support staff
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations within the purchasing team
- Mentor team members and promote disciplined purchasing practices and accountability

- Experience managing large vendor networks and diverse supplier relationships
- Experience implementing procurement systems, processes, or operational improvements
- Experience working in multi-location distribution or operational environments
- Strong organizational, analytical, and operational planning skills
- Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills
Preferred
- Experience in produce distribution, fresh food supply chains, agricultural product distribution, or other perishable goods industries
- Experience working with large networks of growers or independent suppliers
- Experience with ERP purchasing or inventory management systems
Work Environment
