Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Teacher for the Visually Impaired Full-Time | San Francisco, CA | 20252026 School Year
A fantastic school district located in San Francisco, CA is seeking a full-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired to join the team. In this role, you will provide essential support and specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, helping to foster academic achievement, independence, and personal growth. You will collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure each student receives the appropriate care and instruction.
Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction and support to students based on individual needs and IEP goals

Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to support student development and accessibility

Assist in implementing behavior, orientation and mobility, or educational plans as needed

Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation

Participate in IEP meetings and provide insight into student performance and needs
-
Adapt educational materials and environments to support visual accessibility
-
Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications:
-
Valid California Teaching Credential or certification for the Visually Impaired (VI Credential)

Experience working in school settings with students who are visually impaired or have multiple disabilities preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge of braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility techniques, and specialized instructional strategies
