This opportunity is designed for a registered nurse with specialized stepdown experience seeking a contract role in an acute care environment. The position focuses on delivering high-quality care to patients requiring intermediate care following surgery, including cardiothoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to post-operative stepdown patients transferred from PACU or SICU.
- Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips to monitor patient cardiac status.
- Administer medications using automated dispensing systems safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient documentation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years recent acute care nursing experience.
- Proven experience in a surgical stepdown or Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) setting.
- Ability to independently interpret telemetry and perform cardiac monitoring tests.
- Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment.
- Experience in tertiary care facilities is preferred.
Schedule & Hours:
- 12-hour night shifts.
- 36 hours per week.
- Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage.
