Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialized opportunity is available for educators with expertise in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through telehealth services. This contract position is based in Aurora, CO, and involves delivering tailored instruction and support remotely to meet the unique communication and learning needs of students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing individualized and group instruction via telehealth platforms to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Collaborating with families, audiologists, speech therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement effective educational strategies and communication plans.
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting lessons and interventions to maximize learning outcomes.
- Utilizing technology to facilitate interactive and accessible learning experiences.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting on student development and service delivery as required.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Proven experience delivering telehealth educational services, preferably in a K-12 setting.
- Strong knowledge of communication methods, hearing technology, and Deaf culture.
- Ability to engage students effectively through virtual platforms and adapt teaching methods to suit individual needs.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with families and professionals remotely.
