IMMEDIATE CONVEYOR MECHANIC JOB OPPORTUNITY ($35-42/HR)

Location: Woodbridge, NJ

Pay: $35-42/hr

-Must be open to flexible to different shifts

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor service technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, and related controls.
  • Conduct quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve electro-mechanical, electrical, and mechanical issues on industrial equipment and automation systems.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to perform repairs and modifications.
  • Apply electrical and electronic principles to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work on MHE and automated conveyor systems complies with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and safety standards.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work orders, maintenance activities, and parts usage.
  • Support the Operations Maintenance team by designing solutions for difficult problems and recommending improvements to equipment and processes.
  • Manage and support maintenance projects, including planning tasks, coordinating resources, and tracking progress.
  • Troubleshoot and support programmable logic controller (PLC) issues related to conveyor and automation equipment.
  • Perform industrial and equipment maintenance tasks to sustain efficient operation of the facility’s automation infrastructure.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • 4+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • 4+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • 4+ years of knowledge and practical application of electrical and electronic principles.
  • 4+ years of industrial and equipment maintenance experience in an automated or manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing MHE systems.
  • 4+ years of experience working with MHE safety standards in accordance with OEM and safety regulations.
  • 3+ years of experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Proficiency in electro-mechanical troubleshooting and electrical maintenance.
  • Experience with conveyor systems and PLC troubleshooting.
  • 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and guide service technicians in daily maintenance activities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design solutions for complex technical issues.
  • Ability to manage and support multiple maintenance projects simultaneously.
  • Comfort working with automated packaging, distribution equipment, and material handling systems.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with operations and maintenance teams.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to performing safe, high-quality maintenance work.

Work Environment

The role is based in an automated packaging and distribution facility with extensive use of material handling equipment, conveyor systems, and robotics. You will work hands-on with industrial machinery, electrical and electronic systems, and PLC-controlled equipment. The environment is fast-paced and operations-focused, requiring adherence to strict safety standards and OEM guidelines. Work is primarily on-site in a warehouse or distribution center setting, using tools, test equipment, and a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and document maintenance activities. Appropriate work attire is typically industrial or warehouse-appropriate clothing suitable for working around machinery and automation equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.65 - $42.65/hr.
