Job Description
Job Description
Superintendent - Custom Residential Construction | Renovations, ADUs, Custom Homes
Meridian, Idaho
The Opportunity
This is a field-forward leadership role for a highly skilled finish carpenter who knows custom residential work inside and out. You will run projects day to day, manage trades and clients, and step in hands-on when the job calls for it.
- This is not commercial construction. It is not production housing.
- This is detail-driven, client-facing, high-quality residential work.
- Long term, this role can grow into a Project Manager position for the right person.
What You'll Be Doing
Project Execution
- Oversee residential renovation, ADU, and custom home projects from active build through closeout
- Maintain schedules, scopes, and daily progress in coordination with ownership
- Perform jobsite walkthroughs, quality checks, and inspections
- Step in hands-on as needed, especially on finish work and problem areas
Subcontractor & Trade Management
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors and specialty trades
- Hold quality standards and sequence work correctly
- Identify issues early and resolve them before they affect schedule or client trust
Client & Communication Management
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for homeowners
- Provide clear project updates and set expectations
- Represent the company professionally at all times
Quality & Detail
- Maintain a high bar for finish quality, alignment, fit, and overall craftsmanship
- Catch small issues before they become expensive ones
- Protect the long-term reputation of the company on every project
What We're Looking For
Required Experience
- 5+ years in custom residential construction
- Strong background as a skilled carpenter, with emphasis on finish carpentry
- Proven experience on renovations, ADUs, and custom homes
- Direct experience managing subs, schedules, and homeowners
This Role Is a Fit If You
- Care deeply about quality and details
- Can lead without ego and communicate clearly
- Are comfortable being less hands-on day to day, but capable of stepping in when needed
- Want to grow into a Project Manager role over time
This Role Is Not a Fit If You
- Come primarily from commercial construction
- Prefer production or tract home environments
- Avoid client interaction or ownership-level accountability
Growth Path
This role sits between a senior carpenter and an Associate Project Manager. As trust, consistency, and project ownership increase, there is a clear path into a Project Manager position.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Long-term growth opportunity within a stable residential builder
- Projects you can be proud to put your name on
- Healthcare + 401k + PTO
