The Registered Nurse (RN) ICU I is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care of patients.
Utilizes nursing process with technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination with health team members.
Performs assessment of physical, social, psychological status including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate.
Collaboratively develops individualized plan of care involving patient, family, team, and physician.
Directs interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration.
Provides or delegates care consistent with plan of care, guidelines, and licensure provisions.
Sets priorities and manages patient care delivery effectively.
Evaluates patient response to interventions and revises plan of care as needed.
Promotes nursing profession and participates in development of others.
Complies with legal and ethical standards, regulatory standards, and practices within scope of licensure.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Basic computer skills.
Physical requirements include ability to see and read information, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
Frequent verbal communication and hearing in emergency situations.
Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision.
Ability to lift and transfer patients, bend to retrieve and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
Ability to walk, assist with transporting/ambulating patients, and navigate crowded and busy rooms.
May be expected to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
