We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Animal Care Assistant to join our animal care team in the USA. The ideal candidate will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by providing daily care for animals, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring the well-being of all animals under our care. Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily care, feeding, and watering for animals in the facility.
Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with routine procedures, treatments, and exams.
Clean and disinfect animal enclosures, exam rooms, and common areas to maintain a sanitary environment.
Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any signs of illness or distress to the veterinary team.
Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Exercise and socialize animals to promote their physical and mental well-being.
Assist with handling animals during examinations, procedures, and grooming.
Maintain accurate records of animal care, feeding, and treatments.
Provide excellent customer service to pet owners, answering questions and providing updates on their pets.
Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure the welfare of animals and staff.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a veterinary assistant program is a plus.
Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or similar environment is preferred.
Genuine love and compassion for animals.
Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments safely and confidently.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical ability to lift and restrain animals, clean enclosures, and perform tasks that require standing and bending for extended periods.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Preferred Skills:
Basic knowledge of animal health and behavior.
Familiarity with medical terminology and common veterinary procedures.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Good customer service skills and a positive, caring attitude.
