Appalachian Community Services provides Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Substance Use, and Developmental Disability services to individuals, families, and communities within the seven western counties of North Carolina. We provide a wide range of walk-in, psychiatric, substance abuse, and crisis services to adults and children.
About the Role
Appalachian Community Services (ACS), an ncgCARE partner, is seeking a friendly, organized, and service-oriented Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors. In this essential role, you'll help create a welcoming environment while supporting the daily operations of our clinical teams.
As the face of our front office, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the client experience by ensuring every interaction is handled with care and professionalism. You'll assist clients with service inquiries, manage appointment schedules, and support smooth communication across our teams.
Each day, you'll take on a variety of administrative responsibilities—from answering and directing calls with efficiency and warmth to managing clinician calendars and collecting service fees. You'll help prepare records for daily appointments and maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicaid, Medicare, and agency policies.

As an Receptionist, you will:
- Answers phone calls, transfers to the appropriate parties, is courteous to the public, collects fees for services, assists consumers with questions regarding services available, etc.
- Manages clinician calendars, schedules appointments, and prepares records for the daily appointments.
- Ensures strict compliance with all professional standards, Medicaid and Medicare regulations, filing, documentation completion, agency policies and procedures, and HIPAA.

Compensation
Competitive hourly pay aligned with your role, experience, and contribution, with opportunities for growth over time.
- Compensation: $16.09 - $20.66
Placement within the range is based on licensure level, education, and experience.

Qualifications
