A challenging opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse experienced in Stepdown or Progressive Care Units to support acute care patients at a well-established 300-bed hospital. This contract position in Kansas City, KS, offers a dynamic clinical environment where critical care skills are highly valued.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care in the Progressive Care Unit, applying critical thinking to manage complex patient needs.
- Independently manage clinical procedures, including CRRT, Bipaps, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs.
- Respond confidently to code situations and consult with healthcare teams without direct supervision.
- Float across multiple units such as ICU, Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and Emergency Department, adapting quickly to diverse patient care environments.
- Meet weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including working alternate weekends and key holidays on a rotating basis.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years recent critical care or ICU nursing experience.
- Current KS RN or Compact RN license.
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale required.
- Competence in utilizing EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Comfortable working autonomously and managing high-acuity situations.
Schedule:
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

This contract role includes an initial orientation spanning multiple days to familiarize you with the facilitys policies, technology, and leadership team. The hospital is a nicotine-free campus and utilizes a bi-weekly pay schedule.
