We're a patient-focused clinic dedicated to providing outstanding eye health services in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment. We're excited to find a new Optician Apprentice / Optical Assistant to join our vibrant team – someone with an outgoing personality, a natural ability to connect with people, and a proactive spirit to help shape our new brand identity.

No prior experience is necessary – we're ready to train the right individual who brings enthusiasm and a desire to learn, and who is eager to take charge in making our re-brand a success!

Job Description:

This is your chance! We're looking for a fun-loving Optician Apprentice / Optical Assistant to become a vital part of our team, especially during our exciting transition to Tulsa Eye Clinic. You'll receive comprehensive, hands-on training from seasoned professionals, learning everything from helping patients pick out their perfect frames to understanding the latest lens technologies. If you're excited to learn, have a professional demeanor, thrive in a lively environment where you can interact with patients all day, and are enthusiastic about being an active participant in our re-branding efforts, then we want to meet you!

Responsibilities (with training provided):

  • Warmly greeting every patient and making them feel comfortable and welcome from the moment they walk in, smoothly introducing them to the "new" Tulsa Eye Clinic experience.
  • ​Learning to confidently assist patients in selecting stylish frames that not only look great but also fit their lifestyle and prescription.
  • ​Training to take precise measurements for eyeglasses, ensuring a perfect fit and clear vision.
  • ​Mastering the art of explaining various lens options and enhancements in an easy-to-understand way, helping patients make informed choices.
  • ​Learning to expertly fit and adjust eyeglasses, ensuring maximum comfort and optimal visual clarity.
  • ​Assisting with minor eyewear repairs and adjustments with a helpful attitude.
  • ​Maintaining accurate patient records and efficiently processing orders, adapting to new systems or processes during the re-brand.
  • ​Assisting with the organization and vibrant display of our frame selection and optical supplies, contributing ideas for the new clinic's aesthetic.
  • ​Collaborating seamlessly with our optometrists and the rest of the clinic team to ensure a smooth and enjoyable patient journey, actively participating in discussions about the new brand.
  • ​Keeping our optical display area inviting and tidy, embodying the new Tulsa Eye Clinic atmosphere.
  • ​Assisting with various administrative tasks, always with a professional and can-do attitude, particularly those related to the re-branding effort.
  • Enthusiastically embrace and promote the new Tulsa Eye Clinic brand identity to patients and the community.
  • Proactively offer ideas and take initiative to ensure a successful and smooth transition during our re-branding.

Qualifications:

  • No experience required! We are committed to providing all the training you'll need to succeed.
  • ​A fun, outgoing, and engaging personality that makes patients feel at ease.
  • ​A strong desire to learn, grow, and build a professional career in the optical field.
  • Willingness to take charge, be proactive, and contribute actively to the re-branding process.
  • ​Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – you love talking to people!
  • ​A positive attitude and a genuine passion for helping others.
  • ​Great attention to detail, even while having fun.
  • ​Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
  • ​Basic computer proficiency.
  • ​High school diploma or equivalent.
