Job Description

The Manufacturing Supervisor will provide operations and team oversight, playing a pivotal role in leading a business unit. This includes supervising and coaching manufacturing resources to build a high-performing, flexible, and engaged workforce. The role ensures safety, quality, and technical performance and supports the evolution of safety, quality, delivery, cost reduction, and employee engagement. The Supervisor will ensure continuous improvement and resource management goals are realized, supporting process improvement initiatives, staffing plans, resource allocation, production scheduling, and supplier value stream performance to meet customer and operational requirements. Consistent interaction and communication with strategic partners, including leadership, engineering, quality, and logistics, are essential to ensure daily and long-term goals are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operations and team oversight, supervising and coaching manufacturing resources.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and technical performance in manufacturing processes.
  • Support and help evolve safety, quality, delivery, cost reduction, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and resource management goals are realized.
  • Support process improvement initiatives, staffing plans, resource allocation, and production scheduling.
  • Interact and communicate consistently with strategic partners to achieve goals.
  • Support forecasting, financial planning, capital expenditures, training initiatives, and monthly delivery plans.

Essential Skills

  • High-speed manufacturing expertise.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and process improvement.
  • Strong supervisory skills with over 4 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Ability to understand, monitor, coach, and positively impact performance of individuals and production lines.
  • Understanding of SOPs, lean methodologies, and execution of plans to yield results.
  • Experience in overseeing manufacturing personnel and working with various departments.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, engineering documentation, and machining equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2-year degree required, preferably in engineering or a technical field, though any degree will be considered with relevant experience.

Work Environment

The work environment is predominantly on the manufacturing floor (90+%), with 10% in an office setting. The role involves working with state-of-the-art equipment and offers access to robust benefits including holiday leave, PTO, and a 401k plan. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Asheville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
