We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support safety and environmental programs at a manufacturing facility in Homestead, Florida. This is a hands-on role requiring regular presence on the production floor and direct interaction with operations and employees.

The EHS Specialist will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting safety initiatives, and maintaining environmental compliance programs across the facility. The role requires experience working in manufacturing environments, particularly involving lithium-ion battery processes and materials.

The position will ensure compliance with regulations established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and applicable environmental regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of site environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to monitor safe work practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Support environmental compliance programs, including waste management, reporting, and inspections.
  • Monitor safety practices associated with lithium-ion battery manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Assist with incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Provide safety training and support employee engagement in safety programs.

Qualifications

  • 35 years of Environmental, Health, and Safety experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Experience with environmental compliance programs.
  • Experience working with lithium-ion battery processes, materials, or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of safety practices in manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Bachelors degree in environmental health & safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related field.
  • Experience managing regulatory inspections and environmental reporting.

Work Environment
This role requires working in an active manufacturing environment with regular time spent on the production floor. The position involves working around industrial equipment, manufacturing processes, and production personnel.
