Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This surgical technologist role offers a dynamic opportunity to support invasive surgical procedures in a hospital setting located in Ellsworth, ME. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and verify surgical instruments and supplies needed for procedures.
- Scrub, gown, and glove self, surgeon, and assistants to maintain sterility.
- Perform surgical counts with the circulator before incision and prior to closing.
- Assist in draping the sterile field and passing instruments to the surgeon as needed.
- Uphold the highest standards of sterile technique throughout procedures.
- Assist with terminal cleaning of the operating room and preparation of instruments for sterilization.
- Help prep the surgical suite promptly for subsequent patients.
- Support training and mentoring of new employees and students in the surgical technologist role.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Completion of Trade or Technical School with a Certificate or Diploma in Surgical Technology.
- Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
- At least one year of prior surgical technologist experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
