The Mechanical Foreman safely and efficiently manages tradespeople, equipment, and materials procurement to construct high-quality projects while mentoring the next generation of professionals. This position reports to the Superintendent and is responsible for the oversight of other teammates. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position.
Your Role
- Thorough knowledge of all general construction disciplines including concrete and civil construction with primary experience in installation of mechanical systems and rigging practices. Responsible the planning and enforcement of safety standards with own crew and others on worksite
- Thorough knowledge of the planning, layout, and execution of the installation of piping systems that are flanged, grooved, welded, glued, and /or mechanically joined
- Knowledge and experience of the assembly and installation of industrial and process machines and related equipment including bolting, welding, machining work, etc.
- Ability to provide accurate layout and measurements for mechanical systems and structures including line and grade from established benchmarks and control points
- Working knowledge of job cost report and labor production report review and analysis
- Thorough knowledge of corporate quality control program
Your Education and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial construction experience
- Current licenses applicable to the trade
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Applicable hydraulic equipment operation and/or hoisting licenses, desirable

Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site
- Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
- Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders
- Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, and stoop, reach on a regular basis
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Travel
Travel is primarily local, and limited to Northeast jobsite locations, during the business day, with occasional out of state and overnight travel. Less than 20% travel expected.
