SUMMARY:

As our Press Supervisor, you are the tactical lead of the floor. Reporting directly to the Pressroom Manager, you’ll command our personnel and high-performance equipment, transforming complex job specs into print perfection. You don’t just follow a schedule—you own it, ensuring every shift hits the mark on quality, speed, and precision.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000

Shift: Nights

WHAT YOU’LL DO ON THE A-TEAM:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations, goals, and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety-conscious behavior.
  • Complete frequent rounds on the production floor to monitor each machine and employees.
  • Maintain the highest level of quality and confidentiality, consistent with the standards of Arandell.
  • Follow all plant and OSHA procedures, including performing all duties in accordance with all established work and safety rules and industry practices.
  • Provide guidance to employees regarding compliance of all plant safety rules.
  • Be involved with personnel development, including goal setting, morale, training, corrective action, and employee evaluations.
  • Monitor periods of downtime, communicate, and coordinate with job schedulers and other departments.
  • Interact and communicate with other departments on issues affecting customer expectations, production efforts, and employees.
  • Report production information and issues to the Press Manager.
  • Assist all presses and Pressmen in tracking job progress, assigning team tasks, and managing downtime and make-ready processes.
  • Monitor all ink and paper usage for quality and consistency.
  • Administer and coordinate employee emergency response procedures; follow up on employee injuries occurring on their shift, ensuring that proper medical attention is sought, and the appropriate medical facility is utilized.
  • Consult with Human Resources on all hiring, terminations, or discipline of employees.
  • Maintain a positive customer relations approach towards visitors, customers, and employees.
  • Perform all additional duties (weekend hours, education courses, etc.) as assigned by management.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in the printing industry.
  • Demonstrated results-driven leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to research errors and correct with little or no direction.
  • High sense of urgency.
  • Works well under pressure and time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and Outlook E-Mail.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The employee works indoors in both office and production environments. Additionally, the incumbent will work near moving mechanical parts and in high places. He/she will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. There is frequent noise in the work environment.
