Practice Overview: Our organization is a physician-led, accountable multispecialty group with over 650 providers, offering a remarkable opportunity for a clinician to join a well-established Infectious Disease department located on the Boise campus of our Regional Medical Center. This position also includes the chance to serve as the Medical Director for Inpatient Infection Control, contributing to the development of our Infectious Disease and Infection Prevention initiatives. The primary work location will be at the Boise hospital campus, where you will be part of a growing team of providers supported by excellent staff. We utilize EPIC as our electronic health record system.

Key Responsibilities: The role encompasses a variety of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Actively managing our outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) patient list.
  • Conducting follow-up evaluations for patients referred for Infectious Disease care.
  • Ensuring adherence to the physician's care plan.
  • Ordering and interpreting relevant diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
  • Prescribing appropriate treatments and providing patient education.
  • Chairing the Infection Prevention Committee.
  • Collaborating with healthcare providers in the assessment and management of patients with communicable diseases.
  • Overseeing surveillance of healthcare-associated infections.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program.
  • Completion of an accredited Infectious Disease fellowship.
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease, or the ability to obtain such certification within three years of employment.
  • Eligibility for Idaho medical licensure to practice in all aspects of medicine.
  • Valid registration for controlled substances with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in Infection Control or Infectious Disease is preferred.
