Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is needed to provide on-site services within two school settings in the San Antonio area. This contract role offers 40 hours per week working with middle and high school students across diverse caseloads.
Location: San Antonio, TX (two campuses)
Duration: Immediate start through 5/29/2026
Schedule:
- Highlands High School (Grades 9-12) – 3 days per week
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Middle School (Grades 6-9) – 2 days per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services to students under the supervision of licensed SLPs.
- Manage caseloads consisting of approximately 70 high school students and 40 middle school students.
- Provide therapy sessions primarily on a bi-weekly or less frequent basis, ensuring quality and individualized care.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support student communication goals.
- Complete required district paperwork and credentialing forms upon employment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Texas SLPA licensure is required.
- Experience working in school-based settings is preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus but not mandatory, noting that bilingual students are excluded from monolingual candidate caseloads.
- Ability to work effectively with adolescents and navigate diverse educational environments.
