Job DescriptionJob Title: Travel MRI Technologist

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Duration: 13 Weeks (Potential for Extension)
Schedule: 4x10-Hour Variable Shifts
Compensation: $2,400 - $2,900 Weekly (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join a dynamic healthcare team in Alaska. The MRI Technologist will perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and exceptional customer service. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Operate MRI equipment safely and efficiently to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Conduct thorough patient screening for MRI safety, contraindications, and procedure readiness.
  • Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures and respond appropriately to patient needs.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation within the electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support quality patient care.
  • Follow established safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and quality assurance guidelines.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of MRI equipment and report equipment issues as needed.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Required QualificationsEducation

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI Technology program.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Current BLS Certification required.
  • Applicable MRI certification and credentials required.
  • Pending state licenses may be accepted; however, all required licensure must be active prior to assignment start.

Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of MRI Technologist experience required.
  • Epic EMR experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in MRI procedures and facility-specific imaging standards.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of MRI imaging principles, safety standards, and patient care practices.
  • Ability to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Assignment Details

  • 13-week travel assignment with possibility of extension.
  • Variable 4x10-hour shifts.
  • Guaranteed 60 hours per two-week pay period.
  • Facility may call off one 12-hour shift per two-week pay period in accordance with contract terms.
