Construction Project Manager Summary:
A leading contractor specializing in secure and institutional environments is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of complex construction projects. The ideal candidate will have deep experience working in correctional facilities or similarly secure, occupied environments and be highly familiar with electronic security systems, detention hardware, and public-sector contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary representative to owners, design professionals, and facility stakeholders
- Administer contracts per general and technical specifications
- Lead project kickoff, progress, coordination, and closeout meetings
- Maintain a deep understanding of contract scope, responsibilities, and risk areas
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules and phased work plans
- Plan and coordinate system cutovers, shutdowns, and testing
- Track project budgets, cost forecasts, and prepare pay applications
- Review, approve, and negotiate subcontractor invoices and change orders
- Manage subcontractors and vendors across multiple trades
- Oversee submittals, shop drawings, testing, QA/QC processes, and punch list
- Ensure compliance with all safety, labor, and regulatory standards
Requirements:
- 7+ years of project management experience in construction
- 1+ year of experience managing a secure or correctional facility project
- Strong knowledge of electronic security systems and phased construction
- A bachelor's degree is a plus, but not required
