OBGYN opening in IowaFull timeShenandoah, IAAbout the Position Provide comprehensive women’s health care, including both obstetric and gynecologic services Evaluate patients through medical history, physical exams, and diagnostic testing Counsel patients on reproductive health, fertility, contraception, and family planning Diagnose and treat gynecologic conditions such as infections, menstrual disorders, menopause-related issues, fibroids, endometriosis, and PCOS Perform routine preventive screenings including Pap smears, breast exams, and pelvic exams Obstetric Care Manage routine and high-risk pregnancies from prenatal through postnatal care Conduct prenatal visits, including monitoring maternal and fetal health Assist with birth planning, labor management, and delivery (including vaginal and C-section deliveries) Provide postpartum care and follow-up Surgical & Procedural Responsibilities Perform minimally invasive and major gynecologic surgeries (e.g., hysterectomy, laparoscopy, myomectomy) Manage infertility treatments and hormone therapies Utilize advanced techniques to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes Emergency & Critical Care Respond to obstetric and gynecologic emergencies (e.g., ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, preeclampsia) Provide stabilization and urgent care for high-risk or life-threatening conditions Collaboration & Team-Based Care Work closely with nurses, midwives, sonographers, and other healthcare professionals Coordinate care with specialists and support patient transitions and discharge planning Provide education and guidance to patients and families Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical records Document treatment plans, procedures, and patient outcomes Ensure patient confidentiality and adherence to regulatory standards Professional Development & Leadership Stay current with advancements in obstetrics and gynecology Participate in CME and professional development activities Mentor medical students, residents, and clinical staff as appropriate Engage in community outreach and advocacy for women’s health Qualifications Licensed physician (MD or DO) * Strong clinical and surgical experience in obstetrics and gynecology preferred
